The deer house (1981)
Located at one of the highest points on the hill in the Zoo and donated in 1981 by the Zoo Society, the deer house has three rare species that are seldom seen in zoological gardens: these are the Pere David's Deer as well as the Thorold's Deer, both natives of China and Tibet, and the most unusual Takins whose exact place in the animal kingdom gives scientists a real headache.
